Running for the Foundation’s Life

Back

The London Marathon this year fell on the same day as our annual Foundationer & Benefactors’ Chapel Service where we celebrate all those who have benefited from Andrew Reed’s legacy and give thanks to those who so kindly support our Foundation. This was particularly poignant as we had five runners in the race raising money for the Foundation, two of whom even made it to the service that night!

Our appreciation and admiration go to current parent, Jon Wilshire (whose time was supersonic!) and Old Reedonians, George Kershaw and Eugene Gillespie. Special mention, however, must to go Tadd Seymour – the only current pupil ever to have taken part in the London Marathon for the Foundation (all whilst studying for his A Levels) and, of course, the Reed’s Chaplain, Andrew Winter, or ‘Rev’ as his running shirt said!  Impressively, both gentlemen made it to the Chapel that night, with Andrew leading a very moving service.

Thank you to all five Marathon heroes for demonstrating such resilience and compassion at the same time!
