Swimmers re-claim the Cobham Cup

Back

Swimmers in The Close took on local prep schools Parkside, Shrewsbury House and Danes Hill in the annual Cobham Cup. Eager to win the trophy back from defending champions, Danes Hill, Reed’s swimmers knew they would be up for a tough afternoon.

Danes Hill started strongly, pushing Reed’s in the initial races, ensuring they led after the medley relays and the initial round of individual races. However, Reed’s took the lead during the next round of individual races and they knew they would have to swim hard to keep it.

The boys did exactly this, with the First Form swimmers in particular upping their game and scoring double the points of their Danes Hill counterparts. Helped by Parkside and Shrewsbury House performing well in a few races to beat Danes Hill, Reed's held the lead and won the cup by nine points. Well done to all the swimmers!
