Foundation Thought Leadership

Through the Andrew Reed Series, named in honour of our Founder, Reed’s Foundation is able to provide a forum for thought leadership on the matter of child deprivation.

Working with other children’s charities, the Foundation is able to engage support from the City, Government, Trusts and industry leaders and experts to deliver positive outcomes in addressing the issues of disadvantage.

In the past, the Andrew Debate Series has included two debates held at the Guildhall with expert panellists discussing how Education and Sport respectively can help overcome disadvantage.  The aim has been to examine society’s role in helping to find solutions to ensuring the most deprived children have open access to opportunities in these areas, to help break them out of the cycle of disadvantage.  The positive outcomes not only include each of the 700 delegates leaving the Debate feeling more informed and inspired by the topics discussed and solutions proposed but, more powerful, are the working partnerships that are formed between those attending in their aim of inculcating solutions in their work.

During 2016, it is planned that the Andrew Reed Series will run a more intimate and creative programme of events relating to The Arts and how the skills and disciplines learned through all forms of dance, drama, music and art can break down the barriers between advantage and disadvantage.
