Almost half of all grades achieved at A Level overall in 2015 were scored an A* or A grade and a quarter of students gained at least 3 or more A grades, many considerably better. 76% of entries obtained A* to B grades and the School continues to achieve a 100% pass rate at A level. 45% of grades were at A* and A; all students who had offers for Oxbridge or to read medicine were successful, and the vast majority of students gained places at their chosen university for their course of preference.
Our best ever GCSE results were recorded in 2015 with an outstanding 35% of grades at A* and 66% at A* and A. Half of the boys in the year group at the school obtained at least 7 A* and A grades. The majority of boys took 9 subjects with an overall average of 9 passes each. A number of subject departments have accomplished remarkable results, notably in our STEM subjects where over 80% of the grades in Physics were A* or A, and similarly 76% and 74% in Biology and Chemistry respectively. Maths remains extremely strong with an A*/A rate of 73%. Computing achieved 100%. Our Humanities also excelled with 89% of grades in History and 79% in Geography also scoring A* or A. Our Music department surpassed itself with all but one of the 14 pupils who studied the subject scoring A* grades (the other was an A grade) and in Latin 91% of grades were A* or A.
