Major Sports Introduction

In the First to Third Form (Years 7 to 9), all boys are expected to engage in the Major Sports of Rugby, Hockey and Cricket. From the Fourth Form (Year 10) there are further options, although the vast majority of pupils opt to continue with these sports, representing the school in block fixtures every weekend. Each year group has up to six teams competing and girls in the Sixth Form are encouraged to play Hockey and Netball in at least their first year.

Our 40 acre site boasts excellent sports facilities. These include two floodlit astroturf pitches, expansive rugby and cricket pitches and three outdoor floodlit tennis courts - coupled with a Sports Centre that comprises a sports hall, a multi-fitness gym and a swimming pool. This provides an impressive infrastructure for sport and is complemented by an Indoor Tennis Centre with three state-of–the-art courts as well as our most recent addition to the facilities, the Jarrett Indoor Cricket Centre. This new, world-class facility provides the latest technology, Pitchvision Smartlane with Coach & Performance Analysis, along with Merlyn and Trueman Bowling Machines. Excellent local sporting venues, such as Surbiton Hockey ClubReeds Weybridge RFC and Burhill Golf Club, are also used used to supplement our facilities.
