European Day of Languages – a day of celebration

Back

Our annual celebration of European Day of Languages saw the MFL department put on an array of fun and educational activities for the pupils across all year groups throughout the day. Along with the classic favourite activities, such as ordering a free muffin in a foreign language, a Kahoot quiz, a virtual reality experience in the DPC and a Japanese drumming session, they also added a number of new, exciting activities such as an ab initio crash course for the Lower Sixth, a session to learn sign language, a cross-curricular competition involving the Art department, and a carousel of languages such as Arabic, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin and Russian to be offered to Third Form pupils during their language classes. Pupils took every opportunity to participate fully in all activities throughout the day.
