Celebrating amazing A Level results!

Back

Huge congratulations to our Upper Sixth students who have achieved amazing A Level results despite the impact that the challenges of the previous few years have had on their lives. Their success is just reward for their resilience and hard work over the past two years and we couldn’t be prouder of them!

67% of exams were graded as A* and A with 29% of those at A*. Sixteen students gained at least 3 A* grades with four of those gaining 4 A*s.

Particularly strong results have been achieved in our STEM subjects with 69% of grades in Maths at A*/A. French scored an impressive 91% A*/A, English 70%, History 71% and Geography 69%. In the Arts subjects Fine Art achieved 100% A*/A and Graphics 94% with Drama and Music at 73% and 67% respectively.

The vast majority of students are going on to their first choice of university, many at prestigious Russell Group establishments. Their choice of subjects is as varied and diverse as the wide range of talents that are typical of a Reed’s student – from Neuroscience at Exeter to International Relations with Chinese at LSE to Engineering at Durham.

Three students gained places at Oxbridge – two are going to Cambridge and one to Oxford - along with five acceptances to study medicine. Our success at obtaining offers to prestigious American Universities continues with Ivy League offers from Brown, Harvard and two from Princeton. Other notable offers came from institutions such as RADA, USC (University of Southern California) as well as a medical offer from Czech Republic and dentistry in Spain.

Mark Hoskins, Headmaster commented, “These results are a fitting testament to the skill and dedication of our teaching staff whose focus on the wellbeing of the young people in their care has created an environment where our pupils have achieved these wonderful results. One of the key aims of Reed’s is to prepare our pupils for the future and today certainly highlights the exciting futures our pupils are looking forward to and also reminds us of the way our 2022 leavers have taken every opportunity provided here at Reed’s to increase their potential beyond the classroom: they have certainly left a tremendous legacy for their successors to emulate.”
