FutureUni Humanities Seminar was a sell-out!

Back

The Assembly Hall was crowded with pupils and parents who came along to our FutureUni Humanities seminar. The aim of the evening was to give an overview of the benefits of undertaking a History or Geography degree and, from the positive audience feedback, it seems that this was achieved!

Our two Old Reedonian Historians (Clare Ford & Peter Thomason) and two Geographers (Bethan Davies and Leo Petty) explained brilliantly just how versatile and often cross-curricular their degrees were and how the in-depth knowledge they gained, the evaluative and discursive skills they learned and the independent learning they had to undertake were all attractive assets to their current employers: PwC, Unilever, Miller Insurance and JLL.

It was also very evident that the careers which a Humanities degree allow you to pursue are vast and varied which is so important for our pupils, who we are preparing to embrace the challenges of our ever-changing world, to understand.
