Another set of record results, this time at GCSE!
BackFor the second Thursday in a row, Reed’s has been in full celebration. This week, it was our Fifth Form cohort’s turn to produce a record-breaking set of GCSE examination results!
It was a delight to watch the pupils open their envelopes and see them beam with pride that their hard work has paid off. And indeed it has, with a record 57% of all grades awarded a 9 or 8 and 81% of all grades awarded at 9 -7; all our pupils, parents and teachers had much to celebrate. Staggeringly, the most common grade achieved was a 9, with almost a third of all grades achieved at this highest level.
Our pupils performed well in all subjects. It is particularly noteworthy that in the compulsory subjects of Mathematics and English Language, they did exceedingly well. In English Language, well over half of all grades were achieved at grade 9, and 94% at grades 9-7. Equally impressive were the 85% of all Mathematics grades achieved at 9-7.
We are thrilled for our pupils with these excellent results; they should feel deservedly proud of their achievements after the effort they put in.
Headmaster, Mark Hoskins commented:
“These outstanding results are a testament not only to our pupils’ academic dedication, but also to the breadth of their engagement in school life. At Reed’s, we believe education is about developing the whole person, and it is wonderful to see our pupils achieving such success while also contributing so much to our community. They should be immensely proud of all they have accomplished. As they look ahead to Sixth Form life at Reed’s, they do so with the confidence, character and resilience that will enable them to thrive both in their studies and beyond, laying strong foundations for the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.”
