School's Out!! Speech Day today ended the 2024-25 academic year on a high. As the celebrations for 150 years of our Old Reedonians Association also came to a close it was fitting that our Chairman of Governors, himself an Old Reedonian, welcomed fellow Old Reedonian, Alistair Crane, as our Guest of Honour. Alistair spoke candidly about his journey from school drop-out at 16 to seasoned entrepreneur who (amongst many success stories) recently sold his e-commerce company to Klarna. He advised our pupils that hard work, persistence and a determined mindset will help them achieve.
As ever, our School Captains spoke with a maturity and poise beyond their years - those Toastmaster sessions really do pay off!
Erin told us that it was the small, but poignant, memories that she would hold dear of her time at "this incredible school". Her special moment came at the Foundation Appeal Lunch when, listening to the stories from former Foundationers, she realised that the magic of Reed's is what stays with you when you move on.
Sam also highlighted the Foundation in his speech - that it's wide-spread impact across the school plays a vital role in shaping the spirit and character of Reed's and has given him the confidence to know that he'll find the right community wherever he goes.
We wish all the very best to our 2025 leavers!

At the Shine Media Awards at Stationers’ Hall our student magazine WRAPPED received ‘Highly Commended’ in the ‘Best Designated Topic – Leaders of Tomorrow’ category for Barnaby Fox’s article ‘Is the Pen Really Mightier than the Sword?’ Chloe J and Nick M, representing the team, spent the day enjoying a variety of industry workshops including podcasting, journalism, bookbinding and cartoon drawing, before the Awards ceremony took place.
Delighted that our students’ efforts and talents have been recognised!

After exams are done, feedback has been given and we approach the summer holidays we like to ensure our younger pupils have fun, whist maintaining an element of academic education. Last week the First Form (Yr7) had a blast with billhooks, birds of prey, jousting and never-ending spiral staircases on a History trip to Warwick Castle.
A selection of Second Form (Yr8) pupils took on a series of Science and Technology challenges competing against other teams at Richmond upon Thames College. The robotics team of Matthew S and Ben M won the Robotics Challenge Prize! This was an excellent experience showing the boys how science and technology could be used in future careers.
The Third Form (Yr9) enjpyed a Geog field trip to Guildford to investigate sustainability using data collection methods. The skills and knowledge gained will be extremely useful for those going on to take GCSE Geography.
