Climbing is a sport that's increased in popularity both at Reed's and internationally since becoming an Olympic sport at Tokyo 2020. Our Climbing Club launched in 2024 and we've been lucky to receive some funding reecently from our Parents' Association, @fors_at_reeds to revamp the wall. It now looks really smart and has volumes and colour-coded climbing routes. These vary in difficulty from 4 to 6c+ to cater for a full range of abilities. It's proving to be really popular for pupils who want to try a new sport or improve their existing climbing skills! . #climbing #climbingwall #newsports

Lower Sixth Psychology students enjoyed an amazing trip to London Zoo to take part in a workshop on animal learning and intelligence. They put their knowledge to the test by conducting their own research into animal behaviour, and enjoyed seeing how the concepts they've learnt about can be applied to real life scenarios. . #londonzoo #animalintelligence #AnimalBehavior #psychologyalevel

To mark International Women’s Day today we held a Girls’ Breakfast where we combined student voice, staff and our Old Reedonian (OR) community to discuss how we can impart ‘Accelerate Action’, the theme for this year’s IWD, in the school environment. Empowerment, leadership, participation and promoting the advancement of women and girls were highlighted as areas to try and actively support - the campaign also asked women to call out stereotypes, and to challenge discrimination and bias. Having a voice can be a powerful thing; the girls were tasked with considering how to make their voice heard in a positive and constructive way. School Captain, Erin C, delivered an inspiring talk about being a girl at Reed's, and how to unite and support each other in everyday life. We welcomed OR Holly Malthouse who spoke about her time at Reed's and reflected on how different the dynamic - the girls were astonished to discover that there were only nineteen girls in her year group in 2009! Our teaching staff always embrace the 'dress up for World Book Day' remit with much enthusiasm! From the Mr Men series (Art dept) and The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (Physics) to The Hardest Geezer (Geography) and This is Going to Hurt (Biology) the variety and ingenuity on show was just fantastic. . #worldbookday2025 #dressupday

Today the Library was transformed into an Apothecary's Bookshelf for World Book Day. Staff and pupils had given book recommendations as 'remedies' for solving life 'ailments' such as relationship issues, feeling sad or lonely, worries about the world and so on.
