We are immensely proud of our 2025 Upper Sixth cohort whose hard work and dedication have been rewarded with a set of brilliant A Level results. Over a quarter of the year group secured a clean sweep of A*/A grades and, once again, over half of all grades were awarded at A*/A. With over 97% of all grades achieved at A*-C, we are delighted that their achievements have empowered our students to take up an exciting range of post-18 opportunities. This year saw a record number of places offered to study Medicine/Veterinary Medicine, including two students taking up these offers at Cambridge. We also have students headed to Cambridge to study Computer Science and Chemical Engineering. The breadth of pathways chosen by this year’s leavers is vast, spanning courses from Philosophy, Politics and Economics at UCL, Physics at Durham and Mechanical Engineering at Bath - just a few of the many UK university courses our students are going on to study. Beyond the UK University pathway, we have students embarking on impressive Degree Apprenticeships, as well as taking up offers far and wide at prestigious universities in the United States, Australia, and the Netherlands. Mark Hoskins, Headmaster, commented “These fantastic A Level results are a testament to the hard work and commitment of our students and our staff. I am immensely proud of their accomplishments and the bright futures that lie ahead – we send them congratulations and the best of luck!" . #alevel #alevelresultsday #alevelresults2025

School's Out!! Speech Day today ended the 2024-25 academic year on a high. As the celebrations for 150 years of our Old Reedonians Association also came to a close it was fitting that our Chairman of Governors, himself an Old Reedonian, welcomed fellow Old Reedonian, Alistair Crane, as our Guest of Honour. Alistair spoke candidly about his journey from school drop-out at 16 to seasoned entrepreneur who (amongst many success stories) recently sold his e-commerce company to Klarna. He advised our pupils that hard work, persistence and a determined mindset will help them achieve. As ever, our School Captains spoke with a maturity and poise beyond their years - those Toastmaster sessions really do pay off! Erin told us that it was the small, but poignant, memories that she would hold dear of her time at "this incredible school". Her special moment came at the Foundation Appeal Lunch when, listening to the stories from former Foundationers, she realised that the magic of Reed's is what stays with you when you move on. Sam also highlighted the Foundation in his speech - that its wide-spread impact across the school plays a vital role in shaping the spirit and character of Reed's and has given him the confidence to know that he'll find the right community wherever he goes. We wish all the very best to our 2025 leavers! . #speechday #schoolyearend2025 #inspiration @reedsalumni

After exams are done, feedback has been given and we approach the summer holidays we like to ensure our younger pupils have fun, whist maintaining an element of academic education. Last week the First Form (Yr7) had a blast with billhooks, birds of prey, jousting and never-ending spiral staircases on a History trip to Warwick Castle. A selection of Second Form (Yr8) pupils took on a series of Science and Technology challenges competing against other teams at Richmond upon Thames College. The robotics team of Matthew S and Ben M won the Robotics Challenge Prize! This was an excellent experience showing the boys how science and technology could be used in future careers. The Third Form (Yr9) enjpyed a Geog field trip to Guildford to investigate sustainability using data collection methods. The skills and knowledge gained will be extremely useful for those going on to take GCSE Geography. . #warwickcastle #sciencechallenge #geographyfieldtrip

We encourage all our pupils to be curious and to work independently. The culmination of this year's Nissen Bridgeman Project, completed by all pupils in Year 9, was an event showcasing independent thinking, creativity, and intellectual curiosity, as pupils presented the outcomes of their self-directed research projects. Topics ranged impressively across disciplines: from ancient mythology to artificial intelligence, from colonial legacies to the future of work. Each of the 13 finalists delivered their talk with confidence and clarity, responding thoughtfully to a wide range of probing questions from the audience and judges. Overall Winner for Best Project was Zachary G, whose fascinating exploration of Cloud Seeding combined scientific research with thoughtful ethical reflection. The Best Speaker Award went to Luke D for his polished and insightful talk on 'The End of the Office?', which stood out for its relevance, personal insight, and his personable style of delivery. All other speakers were awarded Runner-Up Prizes, reflecting the high quality and ambition of every presentation. It was an inspiring evening that celebrated the independence, curiosity, and intellectual ambition of all involved. . #independence #curiosity #intellectualambition

The Academic Scholars' Dinner this week celebrated the inaugural presentation of the Epicureans Awards, for Scholars who have excelled (in a very competitive field!) in a range of academic pursuits across the year. Director of Scholars, Dr McLaughlin, congratulated all the Scholars for continuing to forge new intellectual horizons at Reed’s! Excitingly, they also launched the first edition of The Epicurean, a student-produced academic journal showcasing a stunning range of peer-reviewed intellectual prowess. We are immensely proud of the structures that we have in place to promote academia throughout the school - the opportunities for challenge and enrichment offered, both in and outside the classroom, are second to none. . #AcademicExcellence #AcademicScholar #curiosity
